Horizon West is a master planned community. It is located in the south-west corner of Orange County Florida. Horizon West borders the northern and western parts of Walt Disney World, but is located on the non-tourist side, providing convenient access to Disney Parks while still maintaining a local hometown feel.

About Horizon West
A Little Bit of History
Located right near Walt Disney World, the area we now call Horizon West used to be mostly orange groves. A series of freezes hit this area in the 80’s, damaging the trees and making orange growing unsustainable in this part of Florida.
In the early 90’s the property owners came together to come up with a plan of what would become of their land. Along with the County and the State, the owners laid out their vision. Now all those years later, Horizon West is a master planned area of villages, interconnected with walking and biking trails, along with green spaces and parks.

Over the last few years there has been explosive growth in new home construction in Horizon West.
I get this question a lot. Isn’t there too much tourist traffic living that close to Disney World? You may be surprised at the answer.
The schools are wonderful in Horizon West and almost all of them are brand new.
